Light weight bike
For anyone who needs to test their "pucker factor" might I suggest riding your GZ across a barrier island during a tropical storm?!
Never have I been on a motorcycle and had it slide sideways across my traffic lane while going straight on dry pavement. I'm not sure whose eyes got bigger... mine or the Florida State Trooper in the adjoining lane. Guess this little 330 lb beast is no match for 30-35 mph cross winds. Well, I say :fu: to the wind... I still have to ride it 17 miles to work (that or walk).

Good grief that must have been a moment to remember. Glad to hear you survived without going down or wetting yourself. I have been hit by totally unexpected cross winds on the prairies when there wasn't even a breeze to stir the grass at road's edge. I was just instantly in an oncoming lane and wondering what happened. It is frightening to say the least. Just one more thing to cross off the bucket list of things not to be repeated.

I MIGHT be considering a heavier bike in the future. I was seriously considering a ride to San Marcos and Brady Texas and another to Oklahoma to see my grandkids... that might wait for a Suzuki C50

My last bike had fairings top to bottom and acted like a giant sail for any cross wind to carry. It was a great experience.....
I'm glad you F$@#%ed that wind good and won.

Not fun! Glad you made out okay. I've had wind scares on the GZ and have come to "expect" them. But I got a "push" a couple weeks ago while highway riding on my Road Star...over 800lbs, I think. EEK!
