Cheap Risers for Drag Bars

Wanted to install drag bars.. fuel tank in the way.

With bar clamp in hand, went to Lowe's...

1.) 2 15/16" socket, the long ones. 4-5$
2.) 5" long 9/16" bolts, lock washers, nuts, etc. (Very odd - Suzuki is metric, but the head on the 9/16" bolt fits in the bar clamp perfectly..)
3.) Pipe nipples and washers to "fill the space" inside the socket (could probably fill with JB Weld or gasket rubber material if so inclined)
4.)Threadlocker and proper torque on bolt/nut highly recommended..

Put it all together.. Taking measurements and clamp to Lowe's with you highly recommended..

Sometimes just strolling the isles of a big box hardware will reveal a handy item that will do the job. A hardware store employee asked if he could help me. I said "No, I'm just looking for an idea." He fully understood.

Sometimes I'd roll the Thumper in there if I could!

It all starts with "How do I get the handlebars 3 inches higher so drag bars don't knock the fuel tank" in the next 24 hours, so I can keep riding..
