No Low Beam and extra connector in Headlamp

I removed my headlamp to clean inside, it's connector was upside down. I believe this was done by the previous owner to prevent the head light low beams working when the key was turned on; to reduce battery drain. The head light came on only when the switch was on full beam and didn't come on for low beam with this configuration. I reversed the connector on the back of the headlamp and everything works as advertised.
I noticed an extra connector with a brown wire in there that is unused. It might be a connector used on European Suzuki's for a parking light, but I am not sure. I wonder if anyone has used this connector to power additions to the GZ250. One idea would be to use it to add some stick on Led strips on the body sides to increase visibility to other drivers at night. A switch could be added to turn them off.
What say you?

Yes, the European model has a 5w parking light in the headlamp.
