Hey all! I will be getting my "new to me" 03' gz250 w/ only 400 miles on it in a couple weeks. I have always been around dirt bikes and atvs but this will be my first cruiser, and am very exited! Any tips or advice would be greatly appretiated while i make the move from the dirt to the pavement! Thanks and i really love the forum :rawk:

Being around dirt bikes and ATVs will be a big help for the transition. Friend of mine and his brother rode in the dirt since they were kids and they both made the transition very well to the asphalt. I was impressed how well he handled his bike the first day we took them out.

I'll post a little more later when i got the time though!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new bike. Surely you will ride it more than the previous owner. Your previous experience with dirt will just be tranferred to street. I would make a suggestion though. Considering the age and miles on the bike, treat it as new and give it a thorough check for lose nuts and bolts etc. Give it an oil change and filter before you ride it. You really don't know what the oil is like after sitting for nearly 4 years and it is probably original factory oil with all the normal break-in material floating around. Check all the controls for free movement and ride it. Have fun and ride safe.
