02 gz250 future owner?

I've never owned a bike smaller than a 750. I'm thinking a gz250 may be too small for me. I'm 6'3". And 225

Your thoughts

Welcome,If you are used to riding larger bikes, you may find the G.Z a little under powered. As far as size, the G.Z. looks & feels much bigger than it is.There are several members of your size that find the G.Z. quite comfortable.

Sounds good. This is to be used as a commuter bike primarily. I drive about 70-100 miles
Per day. And gas is killing me.

Supposed to meet up and check everything out tonight.

If it's riding at 60 plus mph most of the time, than the G.Z. is not a good choice. It is more comfortable at 55 mph.If it is pushed over 60 to 70 mph all the time, this will shorten engine life considerably.IMHO you would be better off looking for something in the 500cc to 750cc range.

I'm in west tenn. No mountains or hills here. Plus. Wouldn't be doing much over 55 to and from work.

Re: 02 gz250 future owner?

It'll go 55 okay, but a 50 mile each way commute is a lot on a little bike. It's a lot on any bike really. It might work out, but it's going to be a more stressful than driving a cage. Especially if there is a lot of traffic... or weather. The good news is that a used GZ shouldn't cost you very much, so if you decide it's not for you after a couple months, you won't be stuck under five years of payments if you decide to bail.
