Razz Can I use a 2005(year) engine on a 2000 model?

Hey guys,

So I just got myself a 2000 (year) model for 250 euros, (I live in Spain) the guy was going to sell it for parts, but the only thing missing on it was the cylinder head, the rest supposedly works fine. Now my dad told me to get hold of an entire engine in case other parts are busted on it's original, so we can replace them and hopefully get it running.

Now my question is, is this anywhere near possible? Because another guy is actually offering me an engine of a the marauder 250cc, but from 2005.

Could it work? Or are there too many differences and just scrap the whole idea?

Thanks!

It should be compatible with yours. They didn't change much through most of the model years.
