Badly need padded sissy bar with luggage rack

Does anyone have a used sissybar with rack for 2001 GZ250? I just can't afford the new prices.

AT least, if you know some I can check out that don't cost $325 and up.

Re: Badly need padded sissy bar with luggage rack

thanks for the welcomes. I'm new to any forums and don't know protocol so I hope I didn't come across rude in any way without saying how glad I am to participate. I got a GZ250 for my son and he loves it but when he rides his sister she almost slides off the back. Christmas broke us and we don't have enough money to buy one of those new so thought this'd be a good place to find one.

Again, thanks, and I'm happy to be a part.

Welcome to the family. You can look for a backrest off a Suzuki 800 Boulevard. It will fit with very little modifying.( drill two holes). That is what I had on mine.Good luck.

If all you want is to keep her from sliding off, you should be able to make a very small butt guard in place of a real sissy bar.

I would take a piece of scrap metal, bend it into a "U" shape that would fit over the pillion seat and then add some kind of padding so it doesn' dig into her back too badly. She really needs to learn how to grip the bike while she rides, even as a passenger. The Gz isn't one of those bikes that should throwing people off the back. Hands around the waist help too. Brother or not, a good grip on the rider is essential for passenger safety.

+1 I was thinking the same thing. People shouldn't fly off of this bike unless they aren't holding on properly or the bike is being ridden insanely. Proper instruction and good gear for both of them is definitely called for not just for them but for any riders or passengers.
