Mountain Newbie

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and to bikeing. I live in the mountains of North Carolina. I'll be getting an 08 GZ250 this fall. I can't wait! I have to pay some medical bills first I was wondering if I might incounter any problems with the power of this bike here in the mountains? Any thoughts on that? Thanks for any help and advice  5bears

Probably not......as long as you stay on the roads !!

IIRC, most people report being able to navigate most grades in 4th gear, about 50 mph.
I will know more in about 3 weeks.

You might have trouble, however, in finding ANY GZ 250's this fall. They are scarce as hen's teeth in most places.

my dealer found my 08 after a 5 state search and calling in a few favors ... (and he did not charge me for having to go get it .???... ) and their were no Bergmans or S40's either.. he is having to turn people away... the local independent shop usually has a bunch of assorted used bikes is now suffering from a cleared floor

Hey! , I live on the east coast of your wonderful state. You won't have any power problems, but you sure may have problems finding one. I just made the purchase about 3 weeks ago. It took me 2 months of classifieds and online auctions and such to land a deal on an 03. So, good luck finding one new in this area. If I can help, I'll keep my eyes open locally at that time. Just PM me then, help any way I can.
