Missing Bolt Head Covers?

A friend pointed out something I had noticed but never paid much attention to. My '09 GZ250 had just 300 miles on it when I bought it, and had never had any work done on it. So why does only one of the four bolts at the handle bar clamps has a cover on it? There would have been four when shipped from the factory, right?

Re: Missing Bolt Head Covers?

You would have been better off if they were all gone. Now you know there are 3 missing. If they were all gone, you'd never be so upset. (LOL).
You're not riding over a lot of bumps and potholes, are you?
I'm sure you can pick those up somewhere, maybe from the dealer as a last resort but they can't be any significant expense, It's probably a good idea to grease the allen heads up a little and cover them with those caps up so they don't rust.

Funny! I lost one and after 300km, when filling the tank and by the air compressor at gas station, when checking the tyre pressure, found one... May be it was mine from the last gas filling...? Don't know, but i got four now... You can buy these caps in the specialized stores... No big bucks...

Yes, it originally came with 4. I am missing one myself, although I have a grand total of 2900 miles (/sarcasm). But I cant offer any useful info, as I have not researched a replacement yet either

You could also use Hot Toppers.A lot of motor cycle shops sell them separately.

If you have a GZ, have you thought about trading it in for one of these:

Plenty of potential for someone of your calibre. Think about it and let us know.
