Hello from El Paso

Hello all,

Just bought my 2009 GZ250 today. My other bike (and the only other bike I've ridden) is a 1971 Honda CB350... currently not running!

I've only ridden about 50 miles. So far I think I'm really going to like the bike.

The only problem I've had is a complete lack of power in 5th. I mean I knew it wasn't going to be a roadrunner, but dang! my CB350 (325cc actually) had a lot more guts on the highway. And it's a 43 year old design.

Well I'll post that problem in another forum.

Welcome. The GZ will serve you well.

Don't expect a lot of power in 5th gear, there isn't much there. Accept the bike as it is designed and learn it's limitations. The bike will never be a rocket sled or world beating cruiser and luxary liner on 2 wheels. However it will always willingly get you there at a reasonable pace and acceptable comfort.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy the forum and the GZ. El Paso is my old stomping grounds. Moved to California, but still have many friends and relations who live in and around the area.

Welcome to the forum!

Back in the early eighties my brother let me ride his bike sometimes, a good ten years old 350cc Honda.

So I kind of know what you mean. The GZ is like a big moped.
