Definitely NOT my cup of tea. I'd be afraid that the black paint wouldn't radiate the heat as good......AND that straight pipe would make you DEAF.......as well as piss all your neighbors off.
Even a thumper can be really LOUD with no muffler at all. :skull:

Seems to be a lot of GZ riders on YouTube; invite them over to set and talk for a spell.

Re: Black Engine GZ on Youtube

The color of the paint would have nothing to do with heat radiation, maybe heat adsorption from the sunlight hitting it to make it warmer, but not have an effect on heat dissipation.

But wouldn't the paint make it harder for the fins to radiate the heat out from the cylinder to the air? I'd think it would have a somewhat insulating effect.

Yep, you've got it right. Not a BIG difference but some.

Hard to tell from a recording but ......that is a different bike than the "black" one and he has something at least resembling a muffler. It doesn't take much to quiet the little beast.

Re: Black Engine GZ on Youtube

They've been painting air-cooled engines for years without issue. I don't see it making much of a difference at all when it comes to cooling the engine.
