I changed my oil at around 200 miles and was glad I did. The oil filter was gray with metal shavings.

I used Suzie dino oil till 1500 miles and am trying Mobil 1 motorcycle oil. After the bike is ran for an hour or so it doesnt shift worth a crap. I had used Rotella T full sythetic diesel oil and had the same problem.

If you're using motorcycle specific oil then I don't know what to tell you. Normally, we get complaints about clutch slippage with car oil but I've not heard anyone complain about motorcycle specific oil causing these problems.

Anyone else??

I think it's just the nature of the beast. Be sure you have a little slack in the clutch lever.

Other than that, I've noticed that the GZ transmission is "tighter" than any other bike I've ever owned....about 12.
It takes some conscious effort to get good shifts.
I serioiusly doubt that ANY kind of oil will make it any better.
If you go back to dino, it may be worse.

Break in Speeds

Without a tach I am wondering wheather or not i am about to blow up this little thing... I have been taking it onto the freeway for 1-2 mile stretches, at between 55-65 MPH.. Any thoughts?

Well during break in you're only supposed to use half gas max. However, I have sinned as well, and also done short stretches of 70 mph with gas all open from around 300 miles, before the official break in was over. It didn't seem to hurt it.

On the oil changes: Suzuki Dino here, changed oil and filter at 60 miles: a few metal shavings in the filter, and 1100 miles: nothing visible in the filter.
