Oil Filter Change Frequency

I only ride 1000-1500 miles per year and have been changing the oil and filter yearly. I will continue to change the oil annually, but wonder if I'm gaining anything by changing the filter since the "book" says every 6K miles for the filter.

Anyone have an opinion?

I do it every oil change is inexpensive and very easy to change

I would change the filter with the oil every time. That's only once a year so you will need to keep in practice.
