Oh No Electrical Problems

Hello all , I am currently having lighting issues with my 2007 gz250 . I used my emergency lights after getting lost and after turning the bike back on all turn signals wear dead . and the turn signal indicator light (the small green one) was no longer working. First of all all my lights except headlight and rear brake light (only when brakes are applied ) still function. This means that my brake light will only light up if i apply the brake . Is that normal ?? I remember it always on before. none of my turning lights work . or stay on at any time. So i replaced all the turning light bulbs with bulbs from autozone, the front turning signals are now always lit up . The rear turning signals still will not function even with new bulbs !! and the turning light switch to indicate which way I am going doesn't seem to work . I push the switch left or right and neither the front or rear turn signals flash. Can you guys please help me? I have searched endlessly and have found no answer to this problem. I cant ride my motorcycle anymore because i use it to commute and i cant possible keep risking riding at night without any form of lighting in the back . Please help , dont just refer to other forums , unless you provide a link . Also battery has been tested and runs fine so thats not the issue. Thank you all in advance

Your brake light should only come on when brake is applyed (Thats correct) But the tail light part (Double contact bulb 1157) shpuld come on with key.....Did you replace front bulbs with double contact 1157 & rear with 1156 single contact?...Also check your fuses.

I agree with Blaine, from what you wrote it seems that you put the wrong bulbs in. The front turn signal bulbs and the rear brake light bulbs have two filaments in them, and two separate contact spots at the bottom.

hey guys sorry for the slow response time. I had several issues but i do not have the wrong size bulbs. It was just a matter of not actually knowing what was supposed to be working and what wasn't actually working properly. All issues have been fixed by replacing the bulbs. The turn signals all work now with the correct bulbs. And the issue with my brake light was that the running light filament had blown out but the bottom filament that only comes on when you apply brake pressure was still functioning perfectly so i was confused as to if it was actually working or not. I had no idea the rear brake light was also a running light so i didn't know one of the filaments had blown. As for the rear turn signals there must be a wiring issue or a bad ground or sum thing because as soon as i plug them in they stop working , but they work perfectly fine when tested on their own .

Leon, would you please not post the same issues in different threads on the forum. Stick with one thread and continue from there. We will respond with one answer instead of multiple answers on various threads. That will save you time and typing as well as not possibly adding any confusion. Never fear, we will help you.
