bungee cords

I've have side saddle bags, but have been securing a bag on the passenger seat with bungee cords. I've been attaching one end of cord to the base of the rear turn signals and the front to the top base of the shock absorbers (diagonally across the bag). The end with the shocks seems pretty bullet proof, but the turn signals are plastic. Even though I secure the cord to the base and it seems very secure, am I asking for trouble there? Where else on this bike could I secure them?

There are two little slots in the underside of fender trim that I have used to hold my lappie for about nine months now. Can't say it's foolproof, but I didn't trust the turn signals or the shocks.

You kind of have to feel for the slots. Make sure you have a heavy Duty bungee. Also, I strongly recommend heavy duty plastic hooks instead of the cheapo metal wire ones. The wire ones have a tendency to unbend under strain, and, if you miss the slot and it comes flying back at you, you may be staring at your eyeball hanging off it like bait, assuming you started out with two good ones.

Yes those are good but with bags, both the nuts may be covered up!

Shocks are OK; turn signal stalks are NOT.

Try under the back lip of the passenger seat. There's a nice gap there on mine.
That is one reason I got the sissy bar/rack; good place to attach cords.
I also have my bags back far enough that the front of the bag support is just barely visible.
