speed for my GZ

Hey all my GZ friends..
I was wondering if keeping my 2010 GZ250 at a speed of 100-105km/h for a while will hurt the bike at all.
Is it to high of a rpm for it or am I ok..
Thats 62-65mph....
Thanks everybody and ride safe..

Re: speed for my GZ

That's what I ran mine at for four years/25,000 miles before I sold it.

Bonehead, was there any negative consequences? When you did ride at that speed, for how long or for what mileage. I can get mine to 115km/h, but I don't have a good feeling, cause i like my bike and don't want to give him bad time...

Re: speed for my GZ

for the gz, 60-65 mph is an ideal speed in 5th gear, dont run like that in 4th gear.

Re: speed for my GZ

I'm only asking because when I go to work.
I do it in 5th gear
Only for about 15-20min at a time
This is why im asking if the bike would be reving to high.
If you all think that it's not good for the bike then I will take another way to work
And keep it at 70-80km/h

115 kph is about 71 mph which is pushing the GZ a bit. 105 kph(65 mph)is more reasonable although I personally would be more comfy at 100 kph (62 mph).

Thanks for all the feed back
That's all I want to do is 100km/h
And after all your feed back I believe it's fine for the bike.
Just want to say I love this forum..

That's what the forum is for. Helping others and sharing info. You might want to send in a few $ to help keep the forum up and running. A small investment now will save you a bunch over time.

I once rode to my deer lease 180 miles away. Doing 65-70mph for a tank of gas. No ill effects. Whenever I was on it I was doing 65mph, the speed limit on the roads I travelled.
