GZ250 Adventure Tourer or Dualsport ? . ....

Some of you may know, that my main sport is Enduro/Dualsport Riding. Well some of the guys have small CC cruisers like a Suzuki TU250, Honda Rebel 250 and the newest is a Thailand bike called a Sym Classic 150, and I have the GZ250.

We went on what was supposed to be a street cruise, but our inner dirt oriented minds took us elsewhere

Here is a link to the full ride report and a section from that report to give you an idea of what the GZ250 is capable of

She performed flawlessly on the street, graded dirt roads and sandy washes!!! I loved every second of it! !! My screen name there is MountainGoatMyke ( MGM) . I'm not trying to plug my other ride forum, I'm sharing with you my GZ Adventure Tourer

We decided to head towards Hole in the Wall.

We checked out this camp site next to a rock pile. Future overnight rides, maybe?

Mike tests the cruiser on the rocks.

Les cheers Mike on.

The small bike trio.

Leaving the rock pile.

Next, Mike finds a nice trail.

Sand.

Nice!

Great views.

We wondered how many cruisers rode this trail before...

Made it back to the main dirt road, Black Canyon Rd.

Stopped at Hole in the Wall.

Upper rings on the Ring Trail.

Mike.

Thanks guys it was a blast. The bike is so light and nibble, its a relaxing ride. I'm not going to beat her up. I rode gently and didn't hurt her, the suspension got a good work out tho! ! Hahahaha

Awesome trip. :2tup:

I've avoided dirt roads around here because of the marble effect of the stones. Did you have to let air out of your tires at all, for traction etc?

Tire pressure was at 32psi. The bike it very well balanced. Nice low center of gravity. Just a good steady throttle and it keeps everything rolling smooth.

Re: GZ250 Adventure Tourer or Dualsport ? . ....

Awesome. I ride a dirt/gravel road every day I do ride just because of where I live, but it's not out in the middle of nowhere like that. Very brave! I wonder if a spare set of knobbies or dual sport tires wouldn't be in order for your bike? Maybe when the current tires need replacing? I've heard that dual sport tires run just as good on the freeway as they do in the outback.

edited to add: er.. though I guess since you run enduro and have a klr650 you know a lot more about that stuff than I do!
