It should, as long it's a non-california tank on a non-cali bike, or a cali tank on a cali bike.

ack, I have no idea. I live in california but I bought my bike used and have no idea what its specs are specifically. Im assuming the tank isn't a cali tank since im getting it off ebay motors....is there a way to check on both?

IIRC, the capacity of the California tank is a bit less than the others. Check the service manual, downloadable on the forum.

I am not real sure that would make it not fit on a non California GZ though, I am not saying it will, but I don't see why it wouldn't fit. And also I have to wonder why they hold less gas in Cali than in the rest of the country?? Anyone know?

Re: gas tank compatability?

Just guessing here but I think the Cali tank might have an indentation on the bottom side to make room for a charcoal canister.

Re: gas tank compatability?

Hey everybody, sorry I've been so MIA but I've been out and about quite a bit this past summer. Regardless Ive finally got a little breathing room to work on my bike again since my deer accident. I'm still looking into buying a replacement tank for my bike and was wondering if anybody knew how to check whether my gz250 is the cali model or not. Also, what is the diameter for the exhaust since Im looking to replace mine (lost a good chunk of it in the crash bahaha)

Thanks!!

Re: gas tank compatability?

I believe that Cali models have a cannister located under the frame below the battery box.

I'm fairly sure that they'll interchange between years, but the Cali tank may have a different petcock.

:??: :??:
