Replacing H4 Headlamp bulb

Has anyone tried switching from the H4 bulb to an LED. I'll probably just add LED driving lights to help cage drivers see me.

Re: Replacing H4 Headlamp bulb

Hi there,

Don't want to be spelling police, but Whisky only applies to scotch. Irish whiskey is spelled whiskey. :neener:

BTW, probably wouldn't be bright enough. Why not try one of the higher brightness bulbs, but make sure it's the same wattage as the original, as the GZ charging system won't take much extra. :2tup:

Re: Replacing H4 Headlamp bulb

Change out the stock bulb for a Silver Star. Regular wattage but they work well. All our vehicles have them and they are worth the price. The GZ will benefit quite a bit with the SS. You can pick up some cheaper LED lights and mount them lower and wider to create a triangular effect for oncoming drivers to see.
I do have a couple LED lights coming in 2 or 3 weeks so I can mount them on my Vstrom. They are really cheap from China so I can afford to toss them if they prove useless. The Vstrom presently has(fork mounted) 2 MR-16 LED's mounted in Walmart lights which are showing signs of abuse, mutilation and age. They are 1.2 watts each which would be virtually unnoticed on the GZ. The new ones that are coming are 10 watts each which the GZ could handle too. Should be quite bright if there is any quality to them.
