Picked up a project 2001gz250

I picked this bike up it was in a box. The guy I got It from had the engine on a go kart, I have all the wires hooked back and I don't get spark. I either need suggestions on things to check to get spark or how eliminate the wiring to basic to for a bobber

We're going to need some more information to help you out. All I understand is that you bought a rolling chassis. The GZ motor at one point was on a Go-Kart, as was the wiring harness, and now you're not getting spark?

Was there spark when it was hooked up to the go-kart? Are you sure you didn't just get hosed?

Re: Picked up a project 2001gz250

I got it from a friend that got it from his step brother that had it running on a go cart frame. The original wiring harness was all chopped up. I have a fresh harness now. But he did have a coil out of the stator cover. I put that back in the best I could from looking at pics online

Have you tested the battery?

Have you tested the voltage into and out of the rectifier/regulator? Are you getting not juice at all to the plug?
Do you have a timing light?

I tested the coil and it's getting the right amount of ohms just not putting out spark
