just missed the rain

I was in my way back last night and noticed spots in my windshield. Then I realized it had started to rain, it was a light rain and only lasted a couple minutes, but it was my first time in the rain. Glad it stopped, I'm not ready for that yet!

I got hammered by the rain on the Long Island Expressway. First rain for me. It felt like pins and needles hitting my face. Next time i hope i have my full face on.

Re: just missed the rain

I didnt mind it cause it was my first time in the rain, but i would like to avoid it if i can, i slowed down to 40-45 mph too, was a bit nervous. I work outdoors so i am used to it but not on the bike.

Re: just missed the rain

Never forget that the first few minutes of rain is very dangerous. That is when oil and other unmentionables come up/off the surface of asphalt making it quite slippery. You might want to wait a few minutes for the rain to rinse off the road mung if possible.
