Ventura County, California Backroads Trip Report

Hi, everyone.
I made one day trip for Ventura Canyon backroads.
Today, I didn't take many pictures, main purpose of trip is to find GZ250 MPG.
So, I made each gas filling pictures with bike meter and trip meter.
And results was amaizing. (see the pictures I attached.)
The trip was a really nice one, good weather, no winds, and not much traffics.
Beautiful scenes, canyons, mountains, ranches, twisted roads, etc, etc....
I wished that I would ride with some others together.
With today's trip I found GZ250 MPG is not consistent.
It depends on the riding practice, for example, keep consistent speed during the long ride made good MPG.
However, more than 65 mph speed riding gave me some how low MPG.
By the way, I hit 80 mph today on the Ventura Highway, road condition was good.
It was little hard to overcome 70 mph because of wind registance, but after than it gets easier to get more speed.
MPG self Verdict: GREAT and FANTASTIC, ha ha ha

Hello, Alan.
I DO NOT remember if I passed the one.
But, may be at the Ojai.
I even didn't know about "Farmer's Boy" until I see your post.

Yes (to your another post answer here... ), CALIFORNIA GZ250 members should have meet and share ride together, sometime.
For me, need more practices or experiences.

My humble opinion: The canyon roads ride really helped me to improve riding skills.
Road conditions are pretty decent, not much traffic, so could ride at lower speed and practice.
And canyon roads shows many different tracks and shapes which taught me a lot of lesson.

Biz,

It's more of an Inland Empire thing. There is one on Alameda in LA, but there's none in Malibu, or Ojai, or Santa Paula, etc.

Maybe it's for you Mr. Patrick.
Not for me, yet, I got little scared honestly.
So, I had to lower the speed as low as possible.

Riding twisty roads like that takes practice, and gives you confidence the more often you do it.

You guys ought to try out the Dragons Tail in North Carolina (where I just vaca'ed at). 318 turns in 11 miles while ascending (or descending) 3000 feet in elevation. Now there's a real pannie pooper.

Keep up the practice!!
