Re: Road Porn: Death Valley Days...

Was a little much in the afternoon but actually pretty pleasant in the morning and early evening. For five bucks, I had my run of the Furnace Creek Ranch every afternoon, including their pool and showers. Here's some non-road shots:

Nice pics Alan. Obviously you are enjoying yourself and know where to hide during the daytime heat.

Re: Road Porn: Death Valley Days...

That last photo is two guys I met at the top of Dante's view (which, is represented by the next to last photo.) Dude on the Wing is 73 and the guy on the Yamaha 750 is 72. Mr. Wing was pulling a trailer. The last mile of the ride up to Dante's looks a lot like a super coaster at Cedar Point. There are several signs prohibiting trailers - and the grade is more than 15% (!) I asked him if he was concerned about it, "Nah, half the time I'm heading down the road at 75-80 and I forget the damn thing is even back there." Wingman also said, "we been doing this for years. We were gonna stop when we turned seventy, but, well, we're still at it." His Wing looked brand new and the fairing looked like a 747 cockpit. He not only had reverse, but it was electric, so you don't even have to have the bike running!

Dante's last 100 yards:

Living proof that bikes keep you young. Honda was smart to put a reverse in the Wing.
