Crazy looking futuristic bikes

Hey, I was just looking around the net, and found these crazy looking concept bikes, at another forum.

Re: Crazy looking futuristic bikes

Thankfully the concept bikes have new ideas that eventually trickle down to real consumers at a reasonable cost. Love the Tomahawk but at half a million a copy it is just bit out of reach.

Some of them are more than mere concepts:

I wonder how that unicycle would handle the twisties at higher speeds ? 2 wheels is as low as I'll go .

And then since I think 2005, there is the Bimota Tesi:

That should have a really tight turning radius. Just give it a twist to turn it around. The only thing probably keeping it straight on the road is the gyroscopic effect of the spinning wheel.
And if you accelerate fast does it make you lean back, or if you brake hard, could you nose dive? That thing looks pretty tricky to ride and must have quite a computer to keep it safe(?).

If you get into an accident, they'll go nuts looking for the rest of your bike.

Re: Crazy looking futuristic bikes

They should market the bike for people with small parking stalls. IIRC this uni is totally electric too. Turning the power off while riding would be a big oops. So much for the computer and gyros that stabalize the whole thing.

It says in the bottom right corner of the picture "motorcycle.com".
To get it, I google-pictured "bimota tesi".

Bimota has a US website as well: http://www.bimotaamerica.com/
They design bikes around Ducati engines.
The bikes are about as rare as Qvale cars.

The design of one of their other bikes, the Delirio, meanwhile has inspired several other manufacturers (note this one is from 5 years ago):

Re: Crazy looking futuristic bikes

So that is where Ducati got some of their hokey ideas. The frame looks like some kid had fun gluing together short pieces of pipe but I'm sure it is plenty rigid and light weight which is the ultimate goal.
