New Gauge/Speedo

Here is the one I am looking at but only if I can get a majority of the options working.

http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd508.htm

If I can the the gear display, tach, spedo, and if possible the fuel gauge to work I would get it. I know the GZ doesn't come with the sensors for some of this so along with this I want to know if anyone was able to install to get some of these option working. Not necissarily with this gauge but just in general. (Gas gauge, gear position, tach. and so on)

Thanks for the information.

Re: New Gauge/Speedo

you're really looking for a project aren't you??
I would, instead, trade up to a bike that already has an electric tach, fuel sender, tranny signal, etc. etc.
By the time you've got this gizmo working you'll have more money invested in instruments than the bike!

Good luck, btw. It looks really cool.

Re: New Gauge/Speedo

I am already gunning for this bike as my regular bike.

But yeah I am also going to be doing a lot to the GZ as well. It was destined to be a project before I even bought it.

BTW Since I only payed $200 for the bike, I have already passed the more invested than the bike cost line. lol Did that with the tires alone.

Are you sure? I recently saw this bike (or a very similar Honda) at the international motor show in Washington DC, and to my surprise the only chromed real metal parts were the exhausts (and probably the front fork and the handlebar too , but I didn't check them).

The "chrome" headlight and the five or so "chrome" caps to the side of the engine - all plastic.

Ah well on our Suzi's the indicator lights have a plastic housing too, but apart from that most of the chromed parts actually are real metal.

That's fine with me, by the time the plastic parts started looking bad or needing replacing they will be replaced with parts that are real real real...
I am SO jonesing for this new bike too, it's bad enough I am contemplating a second job just to make sure I have enough funds for the bill.

Can anyone name any night time jobs that would let you work for about 4 hours a night 4 or 5 days a week and make about $500 every two weeks or so?

Part time at Walmart might work. Or holding up 7-11 stores but if you get caught you may not like your dancing partners in jail.

The chrome fork cover under the headlight is also plastic.
