Re: New bike

The book, Proficient Motorcycling, is excellent resource and most libraries have it. I read it last year when I started riding at WW's recommendation, and I re-read it this year at the beginning of the riding season. Everyone who is giving input about your taking the class or reading the book obviously just wants you to be safe and to have an injury free riding season.

Sometimes hyperbole has the opposite effect than what you're going for.

I 3rd the recommendation for Proficient Motorcycling. It is just the best, can't say enough about it.

Nice thing about having a lot of biker friends is that I'm sure someone there will be able to show you how to adjust your valves. I've never tried it because I just know I'd screw it up.

True any of us might not see next year, but taken the course will keep most of us safer out there.

Very good. I have a copy of that book and it's very informative. I reread it from time to time. Good luck with the course when you do take it and ride safe.
