So, me and Monkey Fist took the MSF course this week. We had fun and the instructor said we should have taken the advanced course....he did however show us a few advanced skills. I'm glad I took it! We were rained on the whole day...which was a good thing! Of course this is south Louisiana, it rains all the time. Taking this course in the rain and slick course was really good.....We learned a great deal about slick surfaces! (braking and swerving)

Congrats!! (I'm assuming you passed) Have you gone to the DMV to get you license yet??

You're now legal, so be careful out there!

Not that this is a good thing, but here in hot springs you literally only have to take a ten question test that a monkey wouldn't have to study for and... thats it. you have a motorcycle drivers license. Well you also have to go to the DMV and get a new copy of your license with a motorcycle endorsement on it.

I'm not sure how many questions are on the test here? Taking it this week...will let you know. I know the driving part is riding the bike out of the exit and then turning in the entrance! LOL....The MSF was really good and makes me feel a lot safer...but still very cautious!!!! My main focus is on all the other people on the road.

I rode for months without a license and in fact i'm the only person at my place of employment or even lives nearby that has one we went for a ride not to long back with the sheriff here and he joked that if he wrote tickets to everyone on the ride that didn't have one he could retire but im not so sure it was really funny because it was probably true there are probably 50 people that i work with that ride and not a one with a license or anyone that will admit it anyway

Heck, the Governor of CA has been riding for years without a license and didn't get ticketed when he got caught.

Does anyone ever fail the MSF course?
I took it last year and everyone passed. I rode out and watched them this year because I had a friend taking it. Everyone passed. One lady dropped the bike during the test and she got to do it over and passed. I suppose thats still better than her riding on a permit and never getting any training. I was just curious about whether anyone ever fails.
