Battery cover lost?

Tody after Uni I came to climb on my motorcylce to get home and I found that the plastic cover that hides the battery was missing.
Wether it was stolen or just fell off whilst riding, i dont know!

I have tried looking online for a replacment but tbh i dont really know what its called. Any one know?
Another thing i was worried about is my motorbike's safety against theives. Is it possible to hot wire it with the battery exposed? Or would you recomend finding an alternative way to commute? :??:

Re: Battery cover lost?

Here is a screen shot of the parts manual. In case you can't read it, the part number is: 47111-12F00-Y7L (Right Hand Frame Cover in BLACK)

*There is also a BLUE one - 47111-12F00-YC2

PS - I lost mine too, but haven't replaced it yet...

Re: Battery cover lost?

if the motorcycle seat is there i think no one can reach the nut and remove the cover. i will check again today to see if i can remove the cover with the set on. it must be broken or someone took two pieces away.

You can take the seat off without the key though, so if someone was so inclined they could get to it.

I would say that I doubt anyone would go through that much trouble for a side cover, but at this point in my life I wouldn't be surprised by anything, someone actually stole the sissy bar seat pad off of my bike (from the previous owner).

Re: Battery cover lost?

It is possible to unscrew the bolt and pull the cover off without pulling the seat off first.

Looks like someone took it because it (mine at least) fits quite snugly in the rubber grommets. But why :??:

Quite possible,if your seat is a little loose,so it can be lifted enough to expose the screw.Does the seat look like it was forced up on that side? :??:
