I just paid $2.98.9 per gallon!

I went for a ride today (temp in the 80's) and got almost to reserve fuel, so I decided to fill up. I noticed the gas prices at $3.10 and $3.13, so I decided to ride a couple miles out of my way and gas up at Wal-Mart since they are always a few cents cheaper. Also, they have this deal where if I use their gift card I get an additional 10 cents off per gallon. I don't know if this is nation-wide, but it is in effect through Dec. 24. Their sign said $3.08.9, and I got .10 off, so I paid $2.98.9 per gallon.

A couple months ago, when gas was so high, I told my daughter to wait and see, gas prices would go down just before the election. And TA-DA!

Maybe that's what dropped our prices. Before our vacation the cheapest gas was $1.39 9/10 per liter. Now it is $1.19 9/10 per liter. That is a drop of 90.8 cents per Imp gal/ or 72.64 cents per U.S. gal.

I'm paying that in euros. That's €1.53 per litre in American. Just a few years ago it was 63 centimos a litre so it's doubled in 4 or 5 years.

1.49€ per liter of gasoline here, that's 5,36€ per gallon... Prices went down for 6 cents...

was €1.70 per litre in ireland, I saw some recently at €1.65/litre, an average of €6.237/gallon (US) €6.23 7/10ths as they seem to say, thats working out at $8 a gallon here! I'm sure my calculation is right. 1.65 * 3.78=6.237 *1.2836 to convert (euros to) dollars US

in other words, ouch!

Your math looks pretty close but the end result is almost criminal to the consumer.

It looks like the Canadian dollar and the US dollar is almost equal in value
so about a 3rd of the price over there. (bit over 2.5 times the price) bummer eh.

I've heard the vast majority of it is tax here, maybe 75%.
