Re: diy luggage rack or trunk?

Get some tubing, fab a shape and have a buddy or a shop weld it into shape.

A guy named Jeb, over on the Ninja250 forums, did this a long time ago and even sold them for a while. {I had the prototype on my bike for a month or so }

Be creative and blow us all away!

Re: diy luggage rack or trunk?

Take off the seat and look at the pillion mounting scheme. With some creativity you can morph the pillion into a support for a DIY trunk. You can probably pick up a tackle box or plastic storage container with a latched lid for next to nothing at a swap meet. Tool boxes, ammo boxes, even small suitcases can work. Search on here - I've seen three or four home made rigs. One used a plywood base as I recall.

You can use a 1/8th inch steel plate to replace the pillion seat using the pillion bolts holes. Attach anything you want to the plate. A cheap trunk or even tupperware if that suits your purposes.

I don't know who make that sissy bar, but with that exposed bracket and bolts, it should be real easy to attach a homemade easily fabricated rack.

My thoughts exactly. When I need ideas I just roam around a big box home improvement store for ideas. Going there today for an improved camera mount idea. The big box stores are just full of stuff you never knew existed.
