Explain tire sizing.

Ok, I know the meaning of a tire size such as 110/90-16 (GZ front tire) but what does this tire size mean: MT90-16?

MT90-16 is the old alpha way of measuring.The M stands for motorcycle.The second letter is the width of the tire.MH90=90-90.MJ90=100-90.ML90=110-90.MN90=120-90.MT90=130-90.MU90=140-90.

The cyclegear.com store near me couldn't find any tires in the stock sizes for my 2002 gz250. So I put 140/90 on the rear instead of 130/90. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have 140/90-15 on my bike.I had to put a washer behind the torque bar next to the hub for clearance.The bar runs very close,even on the original tire. :2tup:
