2007 GZ250

Hi,

I am looking at a 2007 GZ250 w/387 miles. It was traded today at the local dealer.
Any issues with these bikes I should be aware of?

Thank You

Re: 2007 GZ250

They are not big strong bikes. They are considered "great for a beginner, but you will outgrow it soon". They are considered nice for city and back roads, but not suitable for highway riding (it's possible but you have no 'extra' power whatsoever)

Although, I have had mine for 15 months now and I have not yet outgrown it. I don't go on the highway with it.

There should not be any technicial issues as this model has been around for years. A reliable bike.

That depends on your definition of "highway", I guess. :poked:
For us "hicks" from the sticks, a highway is a paved 2-lane road !!
The GZ is more than adequate for any road where the speed limit is 55 or 60.......as it will do ~ 70 mph in stock form.........after it is broken in good. I have actually PASSED a vehicle on occasion.

NOW......if your definition of "highway" is a 4-lane (or more) Interstate type road with a speed limit of 65 or higher, then you are absolutely correct and the GZ is not really good for that!!

Re: 2007 GZ250

I understand it does not have a tremendous amount of power. Interesting to note that top speeds claimed by different people seem to be in a very wide range: 65-90mph.
My concern is any problems or typical issues to look for.
Doesn't appear anyone is having problems.

Thanks

I believe that the owner community, over all, doesn't have any SIGNIFICANT problems with the GZ. The serious problems we have heard about are usually caused by owner actions that are not "prudent" (sometimes called stupid!).
