broken spoke

Lynda was giving the GZ a going over yesterday and discovered a broken rear spoke. 2 questions for the brain trust on site here. #1 can one spoke be ordered or does one have to order a whole kit sort of thing ? #2 what size spoke wrench will I need ? I have never needed to replace a spoke before so any advice or suggestions will be very welcome. Thanks in advance. :??:

Spokes

Hey WW;

I believe they come in sets, but check the "Parts for Sale" topic. Someone there had to buy a set only needing a few and is selling individual spokes. I'd ask him about the spoke wrech also.

Good idea, thanks. Just had a real brilliant thought here. Maybe I will check with the local Yammer dealer first. He might just have a couple left over spokes that will work.

Ouch, 3 spokes in a row. All inner spokes on the right side of the wheel. Local Yamaha dealer is going to deal with it. Probably a whole spoke kit in the works but he does good work. He has the experience to do it right. He says 3 spokes broken and the rest are tight is unusual so it must have been some of the harsh roads we were on during our trip. The mag wheels on the VStrom are looking better and better.
