2009 GZ250, SoCal

I haven't been a frequent poster here but wanted to let SoCal viewers know I'm selling my 2009 GZ250 for $3100 cash. Sorry, I have no way to transport. Deal will be done for us with my AAA service in Camarillo. AAA will collect sales tax and fees from you, cash or check.

The ad will go on CraigsList in the next day or so, Ventura area. Its a black 2009, completely stock, made for CA model, except for 2 piezo speakers to remind me to turn off the signals. Mileage today is 1912 miles, and I got it used with less than 200 miles and followed the break-in rules. I haven't abused the engine and changed the oil on time. Never took it on the freeway. I've ridden around town and backroads to neighboring towns. The sale will include saddle bags I installed and a Trackside rear paddock stand for easy maintenance. No dings or scratches.

Why selling? I've been riding a sidecar outfit for a few years and wanted to try my hand with a 2 wheeler. I also thought I might put a car on the GZ, but realized it just doesn't have the power to pull my 200#s plus the car at 55 mph against a headwind. I'll stick with my 3 wheeler, Kawasaki 1500 Vulcan with Velorex, and just be easy on the throttle.

I'll check back for forum comments or email to lenkf-at-dock-dot-net

Re: 2009 GZ250, SoCal

OK, I waited 2 weeks to post an ad on CL because there were > 50 looks at gz250bike.com but nobody interested on the GZ250 forum contacted me. I chose to give the GZ250 list first chance since I learned so much from here re gz250s.

Thing is current CA law is SO bad now (none of my conservative votes) regarding used vehicles (at least 7500 miles on OOS vehicles), it almost isn''t worth it to advertise nationally. Don't move to CA! I'd like to leave! So naturally CA vehicles cost a little more if you live here and want to ride here Not many decent GZ250s have 7500 miles in only 2 or 3 years from other states, for legal purchase in CA. I personally put c. 25,000 miles on a Kawi Vulcan sidecar outfit over a couple years, and its barely broke in

I request gz250bike admins please remove my subscription.

2010 GZ250BASE MSRP?: $2,999

This may have been the reasons for the views and no posts.

Re: 2009 GZ250, SoCal

Thanks Jerry for your comment. Apparently my bike is only $100 more than an undocumented GZ250 MSRP. My low mileages 2009 includes nice extras, including a "Pro Pad" seat pad I didn't mention, and CA legal. I remember seeing left over unsold New Jersey gz250 2010s back in the day for a low cost, but not in SoCal. One cannot register a "vehicle" in CA unless it's CARB certified for CA (decals and frame/engine VIN) or has > 7500 miles used. Sell your low mileage 49 state vehicle (car/moto) before moving to CA

Current price is $28k as advertised on CL in SoCal. I'm anxious to get a new human powered vehicle.

Not trying to insult you but give your head a shake. Who would buy a used bike for $100 more than new. Your bike is 3 years old and would likely be a hard sell in the GWN at your asking price. Put yourself in the position of a prospective buyer. Would you buy your bike??

I was quoting the price of a NEW bike.

The old MSRP was $3799; now you can buy a brand-new GZ250 off the showroom floor for only $2999.
