Project Scootie, the ever-changing ball of ideas.

Here it is the day I brought it home:

(sorry for the out of focus pic, and muddy Jeep in the background. lol)
Since i also bought an 800 marauder, we've dubbed the little bike "Scootie"
I picked it up for only $900. it's a 2001 with only 3100 miles.

And another pic for good measure:

The plans right now are to fix all the little OEM issues the prev owner left for me.
It was a bike used in the motorcycle safety program, so it's been dropped a bunch of
times on each side and there's random dings. After all that is done, I am really leaning
heavily towards bobbing/chopping the bike. I really like a nice custom look.

Here's my "to do" list as of right now:
replace reflectors by horn, one missing
replace bar ends, left one's bent and right one's missing
replace headlight bezel, dents on both sides if front trim ring
replace stock horn with something a bit louder
replace green turn signal indicator, yellow button-light for turn signal, green for neutral

Once the stock stuff is replaced/fixed, I can start the custom stuff.
possible future custom mods:
bob rear and cut fenders, check into where/how to cut and brace for bobbing and get some ideas on fender cuts to use
LED tail light, relocate license plate and LED plate lights
LED turn signals front and rear, round ones I have in the garage from working at truck lite
repaint white (or other color, pick later), do a lot of research before repainting. brand, color, wet sanding, etc... read lots of how tos
white wall tires, research sizes to fit stock tire and will work without major swing arm/fork mods

I have a tall order in front of me, and I won't start anything major unless I have something else to ride while doing the work on this one.

Any thoughts, advise, or pointing to cheap replacement parts or how tos are always welcome. I've been doing a LOT of research on this site and I see a bunch of great custom jobs I want to borrow ideas from. I can't wait to dive in.
