First post...intro.

I rode a Benelli 250cc in the late 60's and stopped riding after 2 close calls on local streets. Two grade school girls and a Dad that needed to be around to see them grow up.

40 years later bought a pristine Ninja 250 to see if I would still enjoy riding (I really liked the TU250x). The 2007 Ninja with 2,300 miles at $2,000 was the best way to find out if I still enjoyed two wheel transport. I did, but the riding position put too much weight on my wrists so I traded the Ninja in on a new 2009 TU250X. I've owned a 1992 Mazda Miata for the past 10 years and it's as close to a 4 wheel bike as you can get and I will not part with the Miata.

Being retired, age 72 (the girls are now in their 40's) and still fit enough to get a leg over the seat; I'm enjoying the wind-in-the-face again. You've put together a great web-site and I've used it to properly adjust the rear brake pedal and brake switch (TU250X owner's manual is vague :?? If I have anything I can add to the forum I'll be sure to post. Thanks again for giving the TU a place to share. :2tup:
The Ninja and TU photos are stock photos, but identical to my bikes.

Welcome aboard Roadfinder - and welcome back! (to motorcycling)

Your Miata looks sweet! I've always liked the looks of them.

Re: First post...intro.

Welcome to the forum Roadfinder! Always great to have another rider on board. I have a similar story - had a hairy experience on a bike about 20 years ago and gave up riding for a while. But when gas prices got so high over the last couple of years, I decided I needed to get something that got better than the 13 mpg my Dodge truck gets. And what gets better mileage than a motorcycle, let alone a 250?

So I have been riding to work every day for the last couple of months, and I am loving it (even with the 115ยบ temperatures!) Just for good measure, I ride with much more protection now than I used to - full face helmet, riding jacket, gloves, boots - so just in case I have another close meeting with the pavement, I come out a little better than I did 20 years ago! Lol!

Again, welcome - enjoy that bike, and ride safe :2tup:

You're pretty smart to do that! I got a Scion that gets 34mpg and went from spending $35 a week on gas for it to $10 for my GZ250. I love this little bike! Its fun to be able to get out on the road and not have to worry about how much its costing me like in the old days.
