I took off the seat and the electrical got rained on

I took the seat off for some troubleshooting, and went out to run a quick errand. I live in Central Florida and if you are familiar with the rain patterns, it doesn't take long to go from bright sunny day to torrents. That is what happened.

The seat was left off for about 15 minutes, and was thoroughly wet. Is there a danger? What steps should I take? How long should i wait until I try to start?

Let the bike sit out in the sunshine to dry out for a few hours. Give it a whirl and likely there will not be any bad things happen.

Bikes are made with many parts exposed and it's an assumed inevitability that a motorcycle will get rained on at some point. Most everything is sealed to a certain degree because of this.

Don't worry about it.

Motorcycles aren't delicate little flowers. They can get dirty and have rain on them and even get dropped a few times and still work just fine.
