Bigger bike and no payments

I have finally succumbed to my urge for a larger bike. 1999 Yamaha V-star 650 Classic with 4500 miles in great shape. Paid $2450. My son has shown interest in the GZ.

Great price. Looks clean. What's the date on the tires? Are they original?

That's an AWESOME price for that bike. Everyone around here wants $4000+ for their 2000 models, its insane. Be sure to post a video, because those bikes sound mean even if they're only 650cc.

They are probably original with the low miles so I'll replace them soon.

It does have a very nice exhaust note. The latest one to sell on e-bay went for $3300.

OK and what about the REST of the story?? How do you LIKE it so far?

It looks a little like my Shadow.......except for the color.
Now that you have a road worthy bike, are you going to bring it to Springfield on Sunday for the races ??

I had lunch in Clinton today; spur of the moment thing.
Remind me what day of the week you have off ??

I am enjoying it greatly. Just got it yesterday and I'm still getting used to the clutch.(Very sensitive)I haven't
tried to adjust it yet. Work keeps getting in the way.

Yes, I must admit that I DO.
And I remember Dick Biondi and the Submarine races on Lake Michigan too.
(So......why is it that I can't remember where I left my keys ???)

There's a guy where I work (in the winter) who only has Sunday off.....and another lady who rides a Harley that has a wierd schedule who has expressed an interest in a small group ride.
Maybe we can put something together some Sunday.
There was a guy or two in Bloomington too but I seem to have lost track of them.

Very nice looking bike. Looks well taken care of too. They are a very popular entry level cruiser with a big bike look about them. Yamaha made them to run very well at legal highway speeds for a very very long time. That should get the best gas mileage and still have grunt for hills and passing GZs. Ride Safe Caroledee.

Ordered new NGK plugs today since I don't know how long since they've been changed. I have two days off in a row starting tomorrow so I'll be ridin'. Have a good one, WW.
