Ha! I've been wondering if that was you. Doesn't seem to be much movement in getting our bikes sold. Too many low ballers too.

Yeah, there are at least a half a dozen GZer's in the LA area on CL right now (and they have all been posted for quite some time). Seems that no one is very interested in buying GZ's right now for some reason.

Credit is still somewhat hard to come by......for many. Those who have the cash in hand are probably looking at something a little more "upscale".

A little more upscale to some might be another month's rent paid and a bag of food with the present economy.

Wait until gas prices go back up. Also, you are competing with dealers who are probably flush with '09's and perhaps a little more "flexible" than they were in '08 and '07.

Also, I think last year's $5 shock created a new wave of "economic" motorcycle buyer's that bought entry level and now have gone back to the car after:

1) not getting licensed
2) not digging it
3) crashing

... and so there is a glut of entry level sellers that has to be worked through.

That is me in a nutshell right there.

It is our Global Economy and the 3rd World countries are winning. Want a secure job, work at Wally World because they need people to handle all the bargain hunters who used to be upscale.

Nature likes equilibrium. When things get too far out of balance, something happens to bring it back.

At some point, there will just be too many human beings on the planet. :skull:

Whatever the problems with global economy, something weird is happening. Last week I received a cheque from my English solicitors. Just like I've always done, I went down to the bank. Usually they convert the £ sterling to euros, using the day's conversion rate (they even had a special form for me to put in my file, showing what the rate was) & then put it into my account. Obviously, I can't draw on it until the cheque has cleared. This time the bank refused to handle the cheque. It wasn't just any old cheque, but was drawn on a well known English bank, & countersigned by a solicitor. The bank had nothing to lose, because I couldn't draw on it until it had cleared. They said that this had been the policy for the last two months. All this, and both countries are in th EU. In the end I've had to send the cheque back to my solicitor in England, so that he can pay it into the international banking system, so that it goes into my Spanish account. It seems that even countries (and banks) in the same union don't trust each other.

Sounds like it works the same way there as here......and the above is NOT true.

The banks have a set waiting period, depending in part on the amount of the check but NOT on where it was issued. Thus, in cases where the check was issued OUTSIDE the "local" clearing house area, their "rules" would allow you to draw before it actually cleared.

Think Nigerian scams.

They can't be bothered to FIX their system to track clearance of individual checks (it WOULD be rather complicated and expensive) so you have run into their quick and dirty "fix".
For you it sucks. Apparently the EU isn't as integrated as they would have you believe......and in many cases, that's probably good.

OC Hoosier, I told Oscar that you're a good guy and I wouldn't be mad at you if he buys your bike. And I told him you wouldn't be mad at me if he buys my bike.

Did you get your price? Which guy bought it?

Re: 2007 Suzuki GZ250 - Southern California

Well, it was significantly less than my original asking price from about two months ago, but close to my final asking price yes. I ended up delivering it as well (Pasadena), but that's ok...it gave me a chance to enjoy one last ride. It was a fun bike to learn on, and will always hold sentimental value, but I'm glad to rid myself of the frustrations of trying to sell a vehicle and not having any luck, ha!
