My Bobber/Hybrid Bike
5 Attachment(s)
Not a true bobber, but more of a hybrid cruiser... or whatever you want to call it.
My mods: Cut front and back fenders. Motherroad customs solo seat. Cut off lot of clips and tabs for old side plastics, reflectors, and rear pegs. Painted fenders, horn and tank flat black. chrome bullet signals. low profile black mirrors. 2" rise street bars and new grips. chrome pod air filter. chrome pod crankcase breather filter. Jetted carb. (132.5 main jet, shimmed needle, 22.5 pilot jet, mixture 2.5 turns out) 16t sprocket. chrome battery cover. Cut off front half of tool/storage bin, moved all electronics into top of bin. chrome axle mounted brake light/license plate holder. |
The mods look great. The bobber look is not my style but I certainly appreciate anything that makes the bike reflect the owner/rider's personality. Thanks for the great pics as well.

Thanks Vegas. appreciate the input.

Beautiful work! How long can you go on that seat before you start feeling it too much?
|
The seat is probably far more comfy than the plywood seat I had in an old Mini back in the 60's.
Bobbers are not my thing but this one shows a well though out plan instead of some butcher jobs that show up on CL. |
nice work, how far did you lower your rear fender? seems a fair bit lower then mine.
|
You done a very nice alteration. It is hard to do anything with those oversize fenders and make them look good. The matte paint makes a difference. The engine vent filter is good look.

Flathead here.
Better yet, lets put that 650 Thumper engine in a GZ frame. Now that would be a hoot. I would ride that for free. Nice ride Sir. Keep up the Fire. |

I'd love to see that done so I could get some directions to do mine. I am mechanically inclined but imaginatively stifled.
|
What size is your crank case breather ?
|
Very cool!!
That's an awesome overall look. If you told someone who hadn't seen a stock GZ that yours was a factory model they'd probably believe it. It's really got that compact 'HD Sportster' shape to it. Especially as you found a way to do the rear without hacking off the frame at the back. Yours and KevinJ's café are my 2 favourite custom projects.
