Some awkward questions for the group about -- Underwear!
What kind of underwear do you wear when you're riding in the "extremes" of heat or cold?
Do you wear different underwear for long rides where all you're going to do is sit on your bike? Do you wear a particular style for if you're just riding to work and going to be there for 8 hours? How about supplemental stuff like powders and (O_o) creams. Is there anything in particular you would do depending on the riding circumstances? Any brand name stuff made specifically for motorcycles? Like ribbed and armored briefs to protect the assets in case of a fall? Give me the gory details! I'm looking for ideas to go on my Christmas wishlist. |
Athletic compression shorts. I wear them every time I get on the bike, without exception to what else I'm wearing/where I'm going, etc etc. Keeps "the goods" out of the way....I don't know if you've ever sat down just wrong but wow does that suck big time :cuss: In my experience it wicks sweat away well in the heat, and keeps warmth in during the cold. Now, I'm a hairy dude, and wearing normal boxers on the bike is very uncomfortable and results in chafing in the heat.......with the compression shorts that's not a problem.
There are motorcycle specific shorts with padding along the hips and whatnot, I know Icon makes a pair. I've never had any experience with them, just never felt like dropping the $$ down for them when I'm already (for lack of better a term) covered. Ride safe |
dont know about underwear but Diamond Guset Jeans make pants for riders that let you sit in comfort .. I am asking a for a few pair for X mass.. (google diamond guset... mad in america and fit americans ),,, I do favor well fitting jocky shorts for rides ,,,, as they seem to hold vitals in place

Huh??
TMI !! TMI !! Some things are really better left undiscussed.
LOL   Also, believe it or not, in the old days, some bikers used to wear queen size pantyhose with the legs cut off at mid-thigh, then their regular underwear over them. They have no annoying seams and are nice and smooth and keep you from chafing your butt or your "vitals". Not that "I" would know anything about that........ :neener: |

No powders or creams. I know it's TMI for some, but here is the type of socks I wear, heat or cold: http://www.postimage.org/gx1ZJMYr.jpg |
Anti Monkey Butt powder is the answer to comfort. Was highly recommended to me and of course I had to try it. It does work well. Better than talcum powder for most riders regardless of gender. Try to stay away from sitting on seams, they hurt after a while. For foot wear try Merino Wool socks. The highest quality wool on the market and they DO NOT itch. I have refused to have anything to do with wool for over 40 years and then heard about Merino wool. Bought a pair, then bought another pair because they are that good. Not cheap but what is the price of comfort ?
