Polished the struts today
Got me some 8" buffing wheels for my bench grinder. One for cutting, one for final polish. Picked up several different color compound 'clay' sticks at a surplus store and got busy polishing my struts. They looked dull and shitty from non use. This puts neverDull, mothers billet polish and just about any other aluminum polish i have used .. to absolute shame. Clay polishing on a bench grinder is the way to go. After some finesse on the wheels ... this is how they turned out:

Can't see you photos yet, Dupo, but I heartily agree with the method. I polished my sprocket cover the same way and it's a thing of beauty!

Neat looking struts. I don't what I'd do if the Vstrom had chrome or any shiny parts. I'm kinda lazy in the polishing department.
