Hi everyone my name is Jesse, I'm new to the site just wanted to introduce myself. I bought a 03 gz last week and have put 650 miles on it already lol I wasn't sure about riding a 250 after getting of an 1100 ninja that did 203mph(I had to see lol) but its been pleasnt so far the mpg is AWESOME!!! and thanks to this site I've done the needle shim mod and air flow restrictor removal and it runs great rode it 260mi to Hilton head sc yesterday and did great even got brave and hit 95 but I was cruising along at 83 mph(I was shocked too lol) anyway just wanted to say hello and enjoying the site, hope to meet for some rides sometime. Thanks Jesse. :rawk:

Hi there,

Dream on  Must be the first GZ in history to do that. Did 203 MPH on a ninja. Sure your spectacles don't need changing when you're reading the speedo?

I'm sure lol I can see fine and yes it was 203(the bike was cammed, jetted,k&n with full racing exhaust) but I was 18 when I had that bike so now I'm not to worried about going that fast. Plus being in ems I've seen the results of riding like that...and I was as surprised the gz went that fast but it wouldnt maintain it it did stay at about 80 tho I promise you , I had a slight tail wind and was laid down on the tank. I dnt push it like that often but it was cold and about to storm so we just wanted to get home before it got us(which we didn't lol)my rain gear is being shipped as we speak :2tup:

Ah yes, I-95 makes more sense. Lynda's GZ would go 80 mph under the right conditions but it wasn't happy. Dropping down to a legal speed of 60 mph was a lot less stressful for bike and rider.

Hi and welcome! I'm on the interstate almost every time I ride. Curious to see what kind of mpg you get. I've been averaging 55-65mpg, but I tend to drop it into 4th a lot on the highway just to keep up.

You must have a few gentle inclines that are a bane to a GZ.
