Bike will sit for 3+ weeks...

I know I'll be removing the battery (if nothing else to make theft less easy) but should I use a trickle charger while I'm gone or will the battery be ok...

Thank you,

Just leave the battery alone till you get back. Trickle charge for a while before you want to ride again. The battery won't loose much for 3 or 4 weeks of non-use.

My old Honda has been parked for 1.5 years and all I do is plug in a battery tender for an hour every month.

Thank you for the info.. I thought the same. I just didn't want to leave it on a charge, trickle or otherwise while I was gone..

Last year I couldn't ride for three months, when I broke my femur. Couldn't get to the bike to remove the battery or connect the tender. Cost me a new battery when I was able to ride again.

fully charge the battery prior to the 3 week hiatus & again before starting it up; stabilize the gas & run the bike for a few minutes (prior to the hiatus) to disburse the stabilized gas thru the fuel system; enjoy your time away and enjoy your riding upon the return
