Re: Rear wheel swap

I agree but it also wouldn't be what I want.

WW, the new tire is a vintage tread setup which has no front or rear bias like modern tires. The change will likely put the handling of the bike...

Re: Rear wheel swap

The mirrors do not interfere with normal road driving. If I'm at walking speed around a parking lot or something, I move my knees out away from the tank and haven't had any issue. I like them a lot...

Re: Rear wheel swap

I got the front rim in sort of a preliminary lacing to the rear hub without much hassle at all last night. I used the front spokes without cutting them down and it appears that they are about 1/2...

Re: Rear wheel swap

I suspect I'll be cutting down the front spokes and rethreading them to suit. I'm not entirely certain though as the angle of the spokes from front to rear appear to be different.

I suspect the...

Rear wheel swap

Been a while since I've had something worth posting. I've had my bike a year and done some tinkering on it but the reason for the post is for the project I'm about to do.

This is the bike when I...

Re: Is a 150/90-15 rear tire too wide?

So I'm guessing that no one currently on the forum has attempted a 150 tire on their 250? I'm fairly certain that the tire pictured below is an Avon AM42 Venom in 150/90-15 since they do not make a...

Re: Is a 150/90-15 rear tire too wide?

No worries. I got this bike for looks and mileage, not performance. It is mostly flat around where I live and where there is a hill it is nothing like what can be found in north Georgia. Thank you...

Is a 150/90-15 rear tire too wide?

I found a few posts where someone said in passing that they had such a tire on their gz250 but a question was asked and there was no follow up in the thread. I thought I would bring attention to the...

Re: 2003 parting out.

Has anybody heard from this guy in the last week? We agreed on a price for some exhaust bits and I haven't heard any more from him. Was wondering if others had run into the same thing.

Re: someone blessed with a face like mine

While I concede that the saddest creature on earth is a Red Sox fan, I'd venture that a DMC enthusiast is just a hair's breadth away from even. That is all the warning you'll receive from me on the...

It is and I should let you know it's for sale in case you know someone stu...ophisticated enough to own such a vehicle.

For those curious, the car will not do 88mph in a quarter mile, much less a...

Re: Idles but wont rev up

To preface my two cents, I'm a newbie to this engine and my wrenching experience is mostly limited to automobiles; but is there any chance that the ignition is not behaving as it should? My three...

Re: Is this amount of play in the rear hub normal? (video)

No worries about the safety switch guys. It is on the bike and works as it should. I've just not ever run across such a thing is all. Excluding my 3-wheeler, the last motorcycle I've owned was 12...

Re: Is this amount of play in the rear hub normal? (video)

Thank you. The chain clicking noise is completely gone now that I've cleaned the chain and put some gear oil on it. The play with the hub is about 1/4" as you say so that's good to know.

Now I...

Is this amount of play in the rear hub normal? (video)

This afternoon I rode the bike down the street and back to see how I felt about some new goggles. That was the first time I'd ridden without a helmet and the rear sprocket was making all kinds of...

Re: The Wasteful Generation.

I have a question about your reel mower. I'm actually considering one since my regular go to mower has some issues and because most of my property is wooded and the actual area with grass to mow is...

Re: The Wasteful Generation.

I wouldn't venture it's all bad.

On the flip side, it used to be common-place to pour your old motor oil out on a dirt road to keep the dust down.

A working professional absolutely required a...

Re: Hello from SC

Seemed a better time waster than lurking is all. That and likely I'll come up with questions once I begin tinkering with the bike. Would be rude to just start asking point blank (grin).

Re: First pics after pulling it in the shop

You on any of the dmc forums or lists? I used to be but the crowd I'm used to running with has an easier time of poking fun at themselves and I just couldn't get used to the dmc characters so I quit...

Re: First pics after pulling it in the shop

At one time, I had aspirations of putting one together as part of a sound system. Flashing with the beat sort of thing. Never found time for it though.

I dig that color scheme. It was the primary reason I purchased the one I got last week.
