Are you sure the battery was dead and not that it just had to be recharged?
I also just bought a used Quest to try out on the bike and in my car but I didn't get the CD that comes in the original box. Is that needed to upload maps into it or to upload into the computer in order to communicate with the unit? Any idea where I could get one of those CD's besides asking someone to copy it for me on their computer (hint, hint).
I found a USB cable on Ebay for $1.24, and a 120v home wall charger together with a 12v charger (without the speaker) also on Ebay for $9.95 (everybody else including Garmin wants about $30 for the 120V home charger alone) Ebay and Amazon are your friends.
Different varieties of RAM mounts look about the only way to go for that thing aside from rubber bands or velcro.
