changing master cylinder cover
i hear some people say you can get air in there if you not carefull, just wondering if that is true. the place i got my new bike from just happend to have this nice brand new chrome plated master cylinder cover for the bike they found in the junk door, it has a little eagle on it that says free spirit or something like that. and its looks really nice when i set it on top of the old cover.
just wondering when i go to change it out if i really need to be carefull about any thing or if i just unscrew the 2 screws and screw the new one back on and that's it. i don't plan on pulling the break lever or any thing like that when i change it or have the bike running or any thing like that. thanks. As long as you just change the cover out and don't touch ANYTHING else while you do it, you will be perfectly fine.

Re: changing master cylinder cover
Just don't do it in the rain or dust! Master cylinders hate these.

Re: changing master cylinder cover
The only way you can get air into your brake line is to actually run all of the fluid out of the master cylinder. Taking off the cap will not harm the system.

Looks good. As long as it seals properly to keep out contaminants you are golden.
