Re: Vstar update

I actually rode about 50 miles that day. The snow was really only bad on my driveway, and some of the secondary roads.[attachment=0:3dq169ad]cold ride004.JPG[/attachment:3dq169ad]

Re: small bike

Thanks Dupo, coming from you I consider that quite a complement. :)

Caroledee1, I can't say that I have noticed a difference in handling. If I were going from motorcycles with equal power I might...

Re: small bike

I purchased a Custom, and I have found it to be a nice bike to transition from a GZ to the VStrar. I don't have an updated picture since I added a windshield, and mounted my saddle bags correctly....

Re: small bike

I just want to throw in my two cents :poked:

I moved from the GZ to the VStar because of several factors.

First and most important to me was comfort. From the seating difference, to the...

I too have had the occasion to fly the "you are number one" to stupid people. Being small of stature that has...

Re: Top speed for GZ250

Can't guarantee you'll go faster, just the result I had. Basically I was creating too much drag on it. If your a real skinny fella might not make that much difference. I also found it more more...

Re: Top speed for GZ250

I had my GZ up to 80 miles per hour, but a slight grade or turning into wind can drop your speed 10 mph. I found that once I installed a windshield my speed increased and my mpg improved. In Alan's...

Re: My MODS-Seat, windshield, engine guard, cruise control, etc.

Your windshield comment, as worded, is debateable. A large shield, mounted straight up (no rake) can actually afford MORE drag than a riders body (depending on the size of the body!).

Re: My MODS-Seat, windshield, engine guard, cruise control, etc.

Bike is looking good easy. How does the gel pads work for you? I remember Sarris saying it feels like he crapped his pants using them.

I think that having the windshield helped me reach...

Re: Winter gear on the cheap (poor college student)

I rode 100 miles last Friday night with tempatures around 45 to 50 degrees not counting the wind.

For my feet I had on my hunting boots with thinsulate (2nd most expensive piece) and one pair of...

Re: 2009 Suzuki Gladius

I've got 1300 miles on my V Star now. I've taken 3 trips over 200 miles on the Interstate and bike handles speeds of 70 to 80 mph just fine. Average range for fuel is a little over 170 miles and I've...

Re: TU 250

That seat looks like it will be a whole hell of alot better on the backside. :2tup:

From the looks of the TU250, it reminds me of bikes in the 70's, but not the standard road bike, but more of...

Re: 236 mile range, plus 17 on reserve for my GZ250

I haven't seen a motorcycle ignite, but I have seen a fire on a tractor that my Dad was filling up when I was a kid. It probably wouldn't happen on a motorcycle, but I personally wouldn't take the...

Re: top box and side cases totaling 132 liters total

That certainly is a lot of luggage. I really like the ingenuity used to mount it all, and I'm also surprized that there wasn't any change in performance. Welcome to the forum's. :rawk:
