I moved on up tonight.

On Friday I purchased a used 2009 White Pearl Yamaha VStar 650 Classic in mint condition with 1287 miles on it. I still have the GZ250 so we'll see if it sits idle (though I know it will for a while while I honeymoon with the 650). I drove it 65 miles home and it handled like a dream with plenty of power. This happened faster than I thought it would since I only bought the GZ in December. I'll be adding a windshield and highway bars fast but the saddlebags will have to wait. I want the bags that come on the Silverado but they run $900 for the bags and hardware (without the studs). ouch!

Pics are below.

Re: I moved on up tonight.

Sharp looking bike in white. Probably the best selling most popular of all the smaller freeway capable cruisers on the market. Look to MC Enterprises for crash bars, they make nice ones. Good place to mount highway pegs and extra lights without springing for a costly little light bar. Let the farkling begin.

Very nice. I have a Star also. You'll enjoy the power and ride difference on the highway!

Thanks everyone. I'll be hanging around here as long as I still have the Geezer.

Yes, it's a big difference on the highway. The Geezer always felt a little squirrelly to me over 55. I had this bike up to 70 mph on the way home yesterday and it felt solid. I like the acceleration and having a lot of throttle left at the higher speeds. But I still like my Geezer so I don't know if I'll put her up for sale yet.

Re: I moved on up tonight.

I still have mine. Partly 'cause it's handy for local travel and partly cause no one wants to buy it.
