Re: Sputtering

I was hoping nobody would ask that. In the past month I've taken my fuel tank off the bike countless times, to fix the carburetor, check the spark plug, etc. I KNOW there are two hoses that connect to the petcock, and I ALWAYS connect both of them when I reassemble everything. Well, apparently not always. I was so sure I had the vacuum hose connected, but it appears that I didn't. I suppose it's possible that I just loosely connected it and it came off while starting/riding, but it probably was just carelessness on my part. I have been on here a lot with some bigger problems recently, and I it didn't even register that I wouldn't have connected both lines to the petcock. Thanks for the help.

THANK YOU for being one of the few people who actually stick with a post all the way to the end.
8 times out of 10, people who have a problem or need help don't come back to share the resolution to their problem.

If we had a ranking system, you would have gotten some ++.

One of the issues I noticed while R&R'ng the carb on my wife's GZ is that the vacuum feed for the petcock is a special dual dia. type hose. I also noticed a very aged and loose fit where the hose attaches to the petcock. I had a good selection of small spring type clamps that are used on snowmobiles so I stole one and used to ensure a snug fit of the hose so as to not get a weak vacuum signal to the petcock.
